Establishment of Anti Ragging Committee (As per All India Council for Technical Education notified Regulation for prevention and prohibition of ragging in AICTE approved Technical Institutions vide No.37-3/ Legal/ AICTE/ 2009 dated 01.07.2009).Also, a Public notice was issued on 10th Aug 2015 in this context to prevent ragging in affiliated Institutions.

The following steps were taken by the Institute to Prevent Ragging:

Erecting suitable hoardings and banners in prominent locations within the campus, encouraging students to prevent and refrain from engaging in ragging. These signs also display the names of officials and their contact numbers to be reached in case of raging incidents.                                
Establishing Anti-Ragging Committees and dedicated squads, as per the direction from the university to ensure strict adherence to the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the recommendations of the Raghavan Committee, without any exceptions. The committee at the college was reconstituted as per the Ktu circular (No. KTU/ASST6(ADMIN)/1902/2021) dated 26/09/21.                   
The Anti-Ragging Committee of AWH plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students in colleges. Its functions revolve around the prevention and elimination of ragging activities, which include any form of physical, mental, or psychological abuse inflicted on students. The committee’s responsibilities include creating awareness about the consequences of ragging, organizing orientation programs, and implementing anti-ragging policies. They also handle complaints, conduct investigations, and take appropriate disciplinary actions against the culprits. The committee works closely with faculty, staff, and student representatives to maintain a harmonious and inclusive environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and zero-tolerance towards ragging.

Frequency of Meeting: The committee shall meet twice in a semester or as and when need arise.

Affidavits: Obtaining affidavits from each student, as well as their respective parents/guardians separately, in compliance with Clause 5, Sub-Clause 3 & 4 of AICTE regulations. Another affidavit is also obtained when students apply for hostel accommodation, in accordance with Clause 5, Sub-Clause 6 of AICTE regulations.
